I didn't know what to put for "sheerness" when asked- the dress is not sheer, which is great, but I didn't know how to interpret that on Amazon's rating scale.Anyway, this would be a great mother of the bride/groom dress. It is a great style for older women. I wanted something a little less matronly so returned it but wouldn't hesitate to order it when I get older.Perfect fit.Alex Evenings carries petite size which is getting harder to find. I think we’re all set!Fit beautifully!I felt good in this dress which I wore for my granddaughter's wedding in June. It was not too warm even though it has 3/4 length lace sleeves. I got many compliments on the dress. It has enough sparkle on the lacy top to make it special. I did wear a choker necklace with the dress because I was afraid jewelry would snag the lace top of the dress. It was not too tight and I could slip it over my head even with a zipper in the back. Zipper was good for not messing up the special hairdo though.
